Change Request
A contractor’s request of the owner to compensate for a modification in the design plan or other aspects of the project. For instance, the contractor issues a Change Request for additional windows that the owner is considering.
What Is Change Request?
A Change Request is a formal proposal submitted by a stakeholder, such as the project manager or client, to alter aspects of the project’s scope, schedule, or budget. It details the requested change, justification, and potential impact on the project's deliverables. Unlike change orders, which are typically processed once a change has been approved, change requests initiate the review and approval process for potential modifications to the project plan.
Example
Asking to extend the deadline for a project.
