Give us 3 fun facts about yourself that your coworkers may not know about you.

  1. I have 5 sisters.
  2. I have two different size thumbs.
  3. I took off the year of 2014 and traveled.

What led you to a career in construction finance?

I was a finance major at the University of Delaware so I’ve always worked within the finance industry.  Development always excited me so I’ve spent most of my career in some sort of construction (low income residential, resident solar, and now commercial).

What do you do at Billd?

I oversee our sales, business development and marketing efforts. In other words, I look for ways to grow Billd’s revenue.

What is your favorite part of your current role?

It’s hard to name just one but I’ll give it a shot; talking to our customers.  We truly have some great customers. Very down to earth and genuinely interested in looking for ways to grow their business.

What does your typical day look like?

If I’m not on the phone talking with customers and partners, I’m likely thinking of ways to improve our product and/or process to make our customer’s lives easier.

How long have you worked at Billd?

Since day 0.

What’s something new that you’ve learned since being at Billd?

Just how massive the construction industry is. I can’t believe the scope of projects we are working on across the country. One minute I’m talking to a customer in Georgia about a new office development and the next I’ll be talking with a contractor in Washington discussing a municipal project.

What’s your favorite part about working at Billd?

It has to be the culture. The people at Billd are incredible and that bleeds over to how we communicate with our customers. So whether I’m talking to a colleague about improving our online platform or discussing an upcoming purchase with a customer, I always look forward to having those conversations.

Give us your 30 second Billd elevator pitch.

Billd is changing the way contractors purchase materials from suppliers.  Net 30 terms are ok, but what about 120-day terms? With Billd, contractors have longer more flexible terms so they can take control of their cashflow.

What’s one accomplishment you’re proud of since being at Billd?

Funding our first purchase.

What do you think makes Billd special?

Always thinking about the customer first.

What’s your favorite Billd memory?

One of them is funding our first loan. It was the last working day of 2018 (Dec 21) and we funded our first deal.  It was an incredible way to close 2018 and hit the ground running in 2019.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success and why?

Hard work. Someone can be the most talented person in the world but if you don’t work hard you won’t ever reach your full potential. I have been fortunate enough to witness this first hand with my parents, and grandmother. My grandmother was a real estate broker until the age of 95 so I have no excuses.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe yourself?

Active, focused, and adventurous.

Who’s your inspiration?

I referenced this above, but my grandmother. She raised 6 children as basically a single mother and worked until she was 95.

What’s your all-time favorite memory?

It will be hard to top getting engaged on Thanksgiving (11/20/19).

What are you binge-watching right now?

Narcos Mexico Season 2.

Dog person or cat person? Why?

Dog. There’s nothing better than coming home from work and having Dale attack me at the door. Regardless of what mood I’m in, when he greets me, I’m immediately in a good mood.
